In the third episode of our Social by Nature video series, we sat down with the President and CEO of Ilmarinen, Timo Ritakallio, and learned why it is important for CEOs to be active on social media as private individuals and also as representatives of their companies. Ritakallio says that by being a social media user himself he better understands the opportunities social media has to offer and also the risks it entails. He says that knowing what is going on in the society and how your customers talk about you in social media are inseparable parts of a CEO’s job. As a chief executive, you have to think carefully about the kinds of posts you publish on your account, or even the kinds of subjects you repost. Every one of them has to communicate the right messages to indicate the way you see the world.
